Home Detention Curfew

The Limits of Electronic Monitoring

Electronic monitoring is very effective in its defined usage. It is not, however, suitable for everyone or in all circumstances. It cannot prevent offenders breaching their curfew, or committing further offences, nor does it record details of further offences being committed.

Electronic monitoring should not be confused with tracking systems. It simply records whether the offender is at the specified place during the hours specified by the court and whether or not they are complying with the terms of the curfew.
